FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does a treatment take?

Each treatment will be contingent on the patient’s injury/condition and progression in the healing process as there is no universal protocol for physical therapy. During the initial evaluation, your physical therapist will discuss the diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care to develop a comprehensive treatment plan. A typical evaluation is 60-75 minutes with follow up treatments being 60 minutes.

Why cash pay model and not insurance?

Driven PT does not contract with insurance companies, including Medicare. Traditional outpatient clinics that take insurance typically see 2 to 4 patients per hour while Driven PT focuses on one patient per hour to provide the most comprehensive and thorough treatment possible. This model ensures that you will be seen by a Doctor of Physical Therapy for your entire hour of treatment and will not be given to an assistant or other provider. By not taking insurance, Driven PT can treat each patient without the constraints of the insurance companies dictating the time and treatment approach. This allows for a more patient-centered and collaborative process, which maximizes outcomes in a shorter period of time. This model of care also allows patients greater access to your physical therapist through follow up calls, emails, and treatments as needed.

Can I get reimbursement through my insurance?

For patients that have insurance, you may review your out of network benefits by calling and asking for “an explanation of benefits for out of network physical therapy”. If your out network benefits cover a portion of treatment from an out of network provider, Driven PT can provide you with receipt detailing the billing and diagnosis codes utilized for treatment. The patient can then submit a claim for reimbursement through their insurance and will receive a check in the mail. The reimbursement varies between insurance carriers and plans.

Does cash-based mean I can only pay with cash?

While cash is certainly an acceptable form of payment, patients are also able to pay with check, Venmo, major credit and debit cards as well as HSA and FSA accounts.

What to wear for a physical therapy treatment?

It is important to wear comfortable and loose fitting clothing particularly around the treatment area so that the therapist may gain access during evaluation and treatment. Layering this clothing may also be helpful during portions of treatment that require more or less movement, specifically during the use of therapeutic exercise. Proper supportive shoe wear for movement is often required for lower body rehab.
